About Alta Centers Detox - Alcohol and Drug Rehab in Los Angeles

Alta Centers day treatment program is a daily operation that incorporates learning about recovery and teaching an individual how to stay sober. The day program ultimately processes the feelings on why they have suffered from addiction and what they can do to change their life and make it better. Alta Centers works with evidence-based practices to sustain an individuals sobriety while keeping them involved in day-to-day life. We believe in a model that is contained but also gives an individual the freedom to deal with issues as they arise in their treatment experience.

I have referred clients to Alta Center and they have had a great experience. I have toured the facility and met with their staff. They really care and are very professional. The detox is medically supported and the houses are well kept and beautiful

Alta Centers really helped me grow in my life. I attended Alta Centers in the fall, Their admissions representative met me at a residential facility and helped me learn more about outpatient care and why I needed it. Over the next few months, I learned so much about addiction and worked with a therapist every week. They bring a doctor in once a week as well, I've been to outpatient before and never have I been seen individually so often. Their program can be strict at times, but they do a pretty good job of communication. The sober housing and treatment center have great amenities and the staff works with you as long as you can communicate issues effectively. Overall, I am really happy I attended Alta Centers. I'm over 5 months sober. I have my family back. I have my life back.

Alta centers is not at all what it says it is. First, the admissions officer made promises while recruiting such as \"AA meetings are optional.\" \"You do not have to buy food, we will feed you\" and he also misrepresented the curfew. Turns out, Meetings (recovery meetings) ARE MANDATORY, and the amount of required meetings went up since I got here. Also, I gave Alta centers 1 star on food because the new policy is that if you are working or have EBT you are not allowed to eat certain things in the fridge. Not that that matters anyway, because there is nothing in the fridge. We get a shipment of food for 8 people about once every 2 weeks. But it\'s gone in 4 days because they don\'t bring enough food. The curfew is 10 on weekdays and 11 on weekends, with lights out at 11 and 11:30 respectively, which is not what was told to us while we were considering going here. Accommodations and Amenities gets 4 stars because we stay in a 1.8 million dollar house right below the Hollywood sign in the hills. The only downside is it takes 30-40 minutes to get down or up the hill. When walking home from work, it takes me an hour to get home and it\'s all uphill. Rooms are large, beds are comfy (some comfier than others) and there is an upstairs and downstairs TV. The house manager is kind of neurotic when it comes to, well, just about everything. 3 stars. He is willing to get me down the hill and save me an hour of walking to work. Treatment effectiveness get 3 stars because basically it consists of filling out simple worksheets and reading out of the Big Book or similar AA literature. The staff is super nice, and the driver has a heart of gold. My favorite groups are the psycho education groups because I feel like I\'m actually learning something. And the process groups are well run as well. Treatment runs from 9-2 every weekday. If you get a sponsor and work steps you can be dropped down in hours and leave at noon. Overall, Alta gets 11/20 stars (if you count the stars allotted for the house manager). With all the false promises, not a place I would ever want to return to, but then again, is any rehab?
