Great program. The staff helped me so much. The techs are all in recovery and they are very personable. They were always there to talk to me and give me advice when I was struggling. When there were a lot of people in there, you had to wait a while for your meds but I feel like that happens at a lot of centers. It happened at another one I went to too.
Ta Keita was very uplifting. She would push me when I didn't want to get up out of bed and go to class. She's very compassionate and she cares about the girls. She's never MIA. I loved the groups once I started going. I started going to my therapist's groups and she would call on me to share and it helped me feel more comfortable. I loved Demetrius and Tony's classes, they were so engaging. I did the Big Sister program, I was a great Big Sister. I enjoyed helping newcomers feel more welcome and let them know they're not alone. I learned so much about myself. If I wouldn't have came here my mental health would have suffered and I would have lost my mind. I was so depressed and coming here has completely changed that. I sent a picture to my mom this morning and she said I looked beautiful, like my old self. She could see the transformation. I feel like Im going back to a new and improved me.
My son received help after requesting to attend while dealing with legal issues. He is unwilling to take medication to help with his condition. They did not encourage him to deal with his BiPolar Condition.
