The facility has had great report in the past, has seem to have lost it's way. Allowing over night staff to discourage, detour and discharging patients with no real regard for sobriety and safety of the individual.

Very dissapointed. It doesn’t matter if your young adult kid comes in for addiction treatment, they will not even consult family - regardless of kid living at home. They diagnos based on the kid’s self-reporting without any real attempt to objectively verify through prior records. No efforts at family reunification either, regardless of family history. Hazleden was leaps and bounds ahead in these ways - much more thorough. Do not use Fairview if you use another.

Left the facility traumatized. I made a complaint with the ombudsman while in-patient (the staff trashed supportive notes my husband put in clothes he dropped off as a surprise for me, then swore at me when I went to the desk, crying, asking why they'd done that) and afterward there were searches of our rooms, gossip among the staff about me (my roommate told me some of it and both of us also heard one staff member talking about me with a patient!), implications made that I might be put on hold for two consecutive 72-hour periods (turns out no court allows that), and more violations of my rights...I was there voluntarily. Because of their terrible behavior, I wanted to leave over the weekend. They called the on-call doctor, who was supposed to meet with me and a family member who is a social worker—she was driving over an hour to be there to advocate for me. The doctor knew this, but circumvented the meeting by coming a half hour early. Then would not discharge me. Not meeting with family is a violation. There was a lot more than that. But that's some of the primary stuff. They were terrible people.

I'm only speaking for fairview DETOX - they care! They try very hard to help you continue an after treatment program. Some of the nurses make your detox stay easier to deal with. There is not much programing during this phase but let's get real, everyone coming in is stoned, high, drunked, or half asleep. We are there to detox. The nurses, docs, social workers and case managers work diligently to help you find a solution for your miserable addiction. They don't judge - in fact, many of the staff are former addicts. So they understand. I wish they had better beds with nice plush pillows. The food is pretty good (surprisingly). Dudes, if you need a safe relaxing place to detox, I recommend them! Chicago ave detox is sooo scaring! Don't go there!

This place is awful. Move out of the state to get away from them. Someone will sue them and effentually take them down.
